Electrical Technician / Instrumentation and Automation

About the job

You work in the EMRA maintenance team at a large power plant. You are responsible for maintaining the electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems and keeping them running without problems. You combine maintenance work and fault analysis with coordinating tasks together with colleagues and external contractors.

What you'll do

  • Maintain electrical systems, measurement and control systems, and process automation at a large power plant.
  • Analyse and fix faults in DCS and PLC systems, instrumentation, and electrical installations.
  • Prepare and carry out planned and unplanned maintenance work, and step in during breakdowns when needed.
  • Coordinate and supervise work done together with colleagues and external contractors.
  • Take part in improving the technical systems at the plant.

What we ask

You have a technical mbo-4 (Dutch vocational qualification, level 4) background and solid experience in EMRA, electrical engineering, or process automation. Working safely, taking responsibility, and thinking ahead are important in this role.

  • Completed mbo-4 education in electrical engineering, control technology, energy technology, general operational technology (AOT), or a related field.
  • Solid experience in measurement and control systems and process automation (DCS and PLC) in the chemical or process industry, or solid experience in high- and low-voltage electrical engineering.
  • A flexible and eager-to-learn attitude, with safety and responsibility as standard.
  • Good command of Dutch and English, and the ability to think ahead during maintenance work and fault finding.
  • A valid NEN 3140/3840 certificate (Dutch safety standard for working with electricity) at least at the level of Vakbekwaam Persoon (Competent Person), or willingness to obtain it. Also willingness to take part in on-call emergency duties in the future.

What we offer

You get a full-time (40 hours per week) or part-time permanent contract with good prospects, an attractive package of benefits, and room to grow technically.

  • Salary from €3,000 to €5,200 gross per month, depending on knowledge and experience.
  • 10% regional allowance.
  • 1.8% levenslooptoeslag (a savings allowance for later life).
  • 4.5% annual bonus.
  • 8% vakantiegeld (holiday pay, a standard Dutch benefit paid on top of your salary).
  • 25 days of annual leave and 13 ADV days (Dutch reduction-of-working-hours days) per year.
  • Travel allowance of €0.23 per kilometre.
  • On-call allowance (consignatie) of 7.5%, and participation in emergency on-call duties in due course.
  • Opportunities to develop further in electrical engineering, measurement and control, and process automation, and to grow towards a specialist technical role.
