Junior Bridge and Lock Technician

About the job

As a junior bridge and lock technician, you keep complex infrastructure in the Netherlands running and in good condition. You work on movable installations such as bridges, locks and pumping stations. You make sure they operate safely. You fix breakdowns and carry out preventive maintenance.

What you'll do

• Maintenance work: repairing and maintaining complex installations on location.
• Testing installations: starting up installations, calibrating them and carrying out precise repairs.
• Fixing breakdowns: analysing and repairing faults, taking part in on-call shifts in a 24/7 rotation.
• Installing and dismantling: assembling and disassembling installations and testing them thoroughly to make sure everything works correctly.
• Supporting colleagues: working as part of a team and helping new technicians get started in a coaching and supportive way.

What we ask

• At minimum an MBO diploma (Dutch vocational qualification, level 3 or 4) in mechanical engineering, mechatronics or electrical engineering.
• Category B driving licence.
• VCA certificate (Dutch safety certification for working on construction and industrial sites), or willingness to obtain it.
• No fear of heights and able to work safely near water.
• Able to use digital tools, or willing to learn.

• Salary from €2,800 to €3,200 gross per month.
