Breakdown mechanic / Electromechanic

About the job

As a breakdown mechanic you are responsible, together with your technical colleagues, for keeping the machines running reliably. During your shift you are the first point of contact for technical breakdowns. You make sure production can restart safely as quickly as possible.

You analyse and fix breakdowns in both mechanical and electrical areas. You also carry out preventive maintenance on production and filling installations. On top of that, you work on overhauls, support technical projects, and actively suggest improvements to increase uptime.

You work with a varied range of machines and systems, including PLC controllers, frequency inverters, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyor systems, pumps, motors, and packaging lines. You log your work in the Ultimo maintenance management system and follow the applicable health, safety, quality, and hygiene rules.

You also meet the following requirements

• Completed MBO 3 or MBO 4 education (Dutch vocational qualification, level 3 or 4) in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience as a breakdown mechanic, maintenance mechanic, or technical department mechanic in a production environment.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical installations.
• Experience with PLC controllers and a maintenance management system such as Ultimo is a plus.
• Willingness to work a 3-shift rotation.
• You work safely, think analytically, and actively consider technical improvements.
