Trailer Mechanic / Trailer Fitter

About the job

You work in the Rotterdam port area, on different types of trailers and specialist transport equipment. You handle maintenance, repairs and modifications in a modern workshop. Your daily work combines mechanics, hydraulics, electrical engineering and welding.

What you'll do

• Carry out maintenance and repair work on trailers and transport equipment
• Find and fix mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
• Fit, remove and replace technical parts such as axles, brake systems, valves and attachments
• Do welding work on steel and aluminium parts
• Modify, rebuild and reinforce chassis, frames and structural parts
• Carry out inspections, checks and functional tests to make sure equipment is safe and reliable
• Work with colleagues to keep the workshop safe, tidy and running well

What we ask

• At least 3 years of experience
• A completed technical MBO (Dutch vocational qualification, intermediate level) in vehicle technology, mechanical engineering, metal technology or a related field
• Experience with maintenance and repair of trailers, trucks or other heavy equipment is required
• Experience with MIG, MAG and/or TIG welding is a plus
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems or pressure systems is a strong advantage
• Living in the Rotterdam area, or willing to work there

• Salary from €3,200 to €4,200 gross per month, depending on experience
