Vehicle Mechanic (Trainee / Junior)

About the job

As a junior vehicle mechanic, you learn and help with the maintenance and repair of a wide range of vehicles, including trucks, cars and vans. You work alongside experienced mechanics and build practical technical skills. The employer has been active since 1938 in the potato trade in Hoofddorp. They combine years of experience with a focus on quality and sustainable supply chain management.

What you'll do

• Carry out maintenance work on trucks, cars and vans to keep them safe and reliable.
• Inspect technical parts and repair or replace them when needed, so vehicles stay in good working order.
• Diagnose faults and take an active part in fixing them, so vehicles are back on the road as quickly as possible.
• Occasionally work on internal machines and equipment to broaden your technical knowledge.
• Work with experienced mechanics and gradually take on more tasks independently.

What we ask

• Category B driving licence and your own transport.
• Interest in vehicle and machine maintenance.
• Willingness to learn new technical skills.
• A hands-on approach and the ability to solve problems.
• MBO 2 (Dutch vocational education, level 2), preferably in a technical field.

What we offer

• Gross pay between €2,600 and €3,100 per four weeks.
• Temporary contract with the prospect of a permanent position.
• Full time, 32 to 40 hours per week.
