Commercial Vehicle Mechanic

About the job

You work as a commercial vehicle mechanic. You repair trucks, trailers and vans from well-known brands such as DAF, Iveco and Fiat Professional. Your work includes both workshop jobs and roadside assistance.

What you'll do

• Carry out APK (Dutch mandatory vehicle inspection) checks, calibrate tachographs and diagnose faults
• Repair engines, fix electrical faults and carry out routine maintenance
• Handle a variety of work, from quick repairs to longer jobs
• Go out in a service vehicle when needed to help a broken-down vehicle on the road
• Build your skills through training and courses on new technologies

What we ask

• Experience in commercial vehicle mechanics (trucks, vans or trailers)
• Ability to get to work independently and live near one of the locations (Zuid-Holland, Noord-Brabant, Noord-Holland or Flevoland)
• APK-1 certificate (Dutch vehicle inspection licence) and tachograph authorisation are a plus, but willingness to obtain them is also accepted

Conditions

• Salary: €2,600 to €4,000 per month, depending on experience
• Travel costs: €0.23 per kilometre (above 10 km) or public transport reimbursement, plus 8% vakantiegeld (holiday allowance, a statutory Dutch bonus paid once a year)
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 to 16:30, minimum 32 hours per week (40 hours possible)
• Possibility of a permanent contract
• After signing a permanent contract: pension through PMT, paid training (such as APK and driving licences), 24 days of holiday with the option to buy extra days or build up ADV (time off in lieu), fresh fruit at work and a discount on CZ health insurance
