About the job
As an emergency technician in Amsterdam, you find and fix blockages, leaks and breakdowns in drainage systems. You work in a fixed team, visit different locations and make sure the drainage keeps running properly. No two days are the same.
What you'll do
- Find and fix blockages, leaks and breakdowns in indoor and outdoor drainage systems
- Carry out inspections of drainage systems
- Clear problems using a mechanical drain cleaner or high-pressure water jetter
- Travel by service van to customers across the region
- Work alone or with the team, depending on the job
- Take part in on-call emergency shifts (bereikbaarheidsdiensten, scheduled standby duty) on a rotating schedule with colleagues
What we ask
- Category B driving licence
- Interest in technical work
- Willing to work in tough conditions (dirt, tight spaces)
- Good knowledge of Dutch
- Willing to take on-call emergency shifts
- Living in the Amsterdam / Hoofddorp / Haarlem area
- VCA Basisveiligheid certificate (VCA is a Dutch safety certification for construction and technical work; if you don't have it yet, you'll get it during onboarding)
- Technical experience is a plus, but not required. Your attitude and willingness to learn matter more
What we offer
- Salary from €2,858 to €3,543 gross per month, depending on experience
- Full-time work: 40 hours per week (36 or 32 hours also possible)
- 25 days of annual leave and 13 ADV days (ADV is paid shorter working time, a Dutch scheme to reduce working hours)
