E&I Technician

About the job

As an E&I Technician you will be part of a multidisciplinary maintenance team at a client site in Amsterdam. Your job is to carry out all maintenance work safely, efficiently and to a high standard, so that production stays reliable and downtime stays low.

What you'll do

• Carry out preventive maintenance and repairs on electrical and instrumentation systems
• Understand how installations work and how systems communicate with each other
• Work with different measuring and control instruments: pressure, flow, temperature, level
• Measure signals and analyse faults in PLC systems (programming is not required)
• Apply basic knowledge of emergency shutdown systems and how they work
• Configure soft starters and frequency drives, and read fault codes using a manual or laptop
• Connect electric motors and assess whether a star or delta connection is needed
• Apply basic knowledge of heat tracing systems for pipelines, motors and pumps
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and measurement and control diagrams
• Basic cable calculations: knowledge of cable cross-sections and calculation tools

What we ask

• MTS diploma (mid-level technical education) or equivalent in electronics or a related field
• Proven experience in a process or chemical plant
• Good command of Dutch and English for communication and technical documentation
• Flexible and able to handle pressure, willing to work on-call shifts
• Strong analytical skills and able to draw conclusions quickly
