Electrical Installer (BBL Trainee)
About the job
As a trainee electrical installer, you learn mainly by doing. You work with experienced installers on fitting, maintaining and repairing electrical installations. The work is mostly outdoors, on different construction sites. You work on low-voltage systems such as traffic systems and public lighting.
You get the support you need to become more independent over time. At the same time, you follow a recognised BBL (BBL is a Dutch work-based learning programme where you work four days and go to school one day) qualification and gain practical experience. Together with your colleagues, you make sure electrical installations work safely and correctly, and you contribute to safety in public spaces.
What you'll do
- Help experienced installers with fitting, maintenance and repair work
- Work on low-voltage installations, including traffic systems and public lighting
- Learn to work with professional tools and measuring equipment
- Carry out checks to make sure installations work safely and correctly
- Learn to spot and fix technical faults, with guidance from experienced colleagues
What we ask
- A VMBO or MBO level 1 diploma (Dutch secondary vocational qualifications)
- Interest in technology and willingness to do physical work
- You enjoy working outdoors and like learning new things
- A category B driving licence, or willingness to get one
- Open to feedback and willing to work as part of a team
- Motivated to grow in the electrical installation industry
What we offer
- Gross salary from €2,450 to €3,200 per month
- One-year contract with the prospect of permanent employment
- 32 to 40 hours per week
- 38 days off: 25 holiday days and 13 ADV days (ADV is a Dutch scheme that reduces working hours through extra days off)
