Train Bogie Maintenance Mechanic

About the job

You work on the maintenance and repair of train bogies (the wheel and axle assemblies under a train). Your work keeps passengers safe and trains running reliably.

What you'll do

• Carry out planned and emergency maintenance on train bogies
• Replace bearings, axles, brake discs and gearboxes
• Lay cables and fit gearboxes
• Carry out inspections and check the quality of completed work
• Follow health and safety rules and keep the workplace safe

What we ask

• Experience in mechanical maintenance or repair of machines or vehicles
• Ability to read technical documentation and work independently
• Willingness to obtain a VCA certificate (a Dutch safety certification for technical workers) or crane operator certification (you can get these through work)
