Operator B / Mechanic

About the job

You work at Chemelot, a large industrial chemical site in the Netherlands. Your role is in energy supply and energy transition on the site. The job combines supervising installations, analysing faults, preparing work orders, and dealing with clients. You work day shifts and take part in an on-call rota outside office hours.

What you'll do

• Supervise, monitor, and operate production, distribution, and utility installations
• Analyse and fix faults, and handle client requests
• Prepare work orders and draw up safety checklists
• Start up and shut down parts of installations, and act when something is not running as it should
• Carry out inspections, follow procedures, and handle reports and administrative tasks

What we ask

• MBO level 3 (Dutch vocational qualification) in Operator B, with the ambition to grow towards MBO level 4 Operator C
• Knowledge or experience with production installations; experience in the energy sector is a plus
• Familiarity with the Chemelot site and its installations is welcome
• Organised, solution-focused, and able to work independently as well as in a team
• Strong focus on safety, open to giving and receiving feedback, no fear of heights, and willing to be part of the on-call rota

What we offer

• Gross monthly salary between €2,894 and €4,143, depending on experience and education level
• Year-end bonus and participation in a bonus scheme
• 20 statutory holiday days, 3.5 vitality days, and 5 extra days above the statutory minimum
• 13 ADV days (scheduled time off as part of a collective working hours arrangement) within a benefits budget, and a personal development budget of €500 per year
