Driver's Assistant – Food Service Distribution

About the job

You work as a driver's assistant, delivering products to restaurants, cafes and sports canteens in the Rotterdam area. It is physical work outdoors. You start early in the morning and work alongside the driver for the whole day.

What you'll do

• Load the truck at the warehouse before the route starts (drinks, chilled products, frozen goods)
• Deliver orders to food service customers, including carrying goods up to different floors
• Support the driver during driving and manoeuvring, and keep safety in mind on the road
• Unload returned goods after getting back to base

What we ask

• Willingness to do physical work and lift heavy goods
• Own transport (car, scooter or bicycle) - the location is not reachable by public transport
• Living near Berkel en Rodenrijs, Rotterdam or Delft
• Neat appearance and a positive attitude when working with customers

Employment conditions

• Gross salary from €2,640.14 to €3,212.13 per month (€15.18 to €18.47 gross per hour), depending on experience, plus an ADV allowance of 1.35% (ADV: extra pay that compensates for hours worked above the standard working week, as set by the Dutch CAO, the collective labour agreement)
• Net TLN transport allowance: €144.42 per month (€0.83 per hour)
• Weekly pay
• 8% vakantiegeld (holiday allowance, a mandatory Dutch bonus paid on top of your salary), paid in May
• 24 days of holiday per year
• Travel cost reimbursement: €0.25 per km (for distances over 10 km one way)
• Possibility to obtain a category C driving licence
• Chance of a direct contract with the employer
• Work is mainly Monday to Friday, sometimes Saturday, averaging around 32 hours per week
• Start time between 04:30 and 07:20, end time can vary
