Tax Appeals Officer (Box 3)

About the job

You work within the Individuals Directorate of the Tax Authority in The Hague. You handle tax services for millions of citizens. In the new Box 3 unit, you work on additional restoration of tax rights. Quality, fairness, and clear communication are central to this work. You join a public organisation focused on learning. You get an intensive onboarding, work with experienced colleagues, and gradually take on more complex cases.

What you'll do

• Assess and process applications and appeals related to Box 3
• Analyse tax, legal, and financial information
• Write clear and well-reasoned decisions
• Communicate with citizens by phone and in writing
• Manage your own case files and meet statutory deadlines
• Consult with colleagues on complex cases and share knowledge

What we ask

• Completed mbo 4 (Dutch secondary vocational education, level 4) or at least 1 year of relevant work experience
• Experience in a tax, financial, or legal field
• Strong analytical skills and a precise working method
• Good communication skills, both spoken and written
• Experience dealing with clients, including in emotional situations or when there is resistance
