Port Gate Inspector

About the job

You work as a gate inspector at a container terminal on the Maasvlakte in Rotterdam. You check containers that enter and leave the terminal. You make sure safety procedures are followed.

What you'll do

• Carry out visual inspections of containers when they enter and leave the terminal
• Check containers for damage, defects and other irregularities
• Assess whether a container is fit for further transport
• Record and process data using a handheld scanner or the terminal system
• Communicate with drivers, the planning department and other internal departments, and report any deviations

What we ask

• Good command of Dutch and basic English
• Category B driving licence and your own transport
• A careful and accurate way of working, flexibility and an interest in logistics and technology
• A VOG (Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag, a certificate of good conduct issued by the Dutch government) or the ability to obtain one
