Shipbuilding Welder

About the job

You work as a welder on the construction and repair of ships at a shipyard in Hoogezand. You weld heavy structural parts with precision, using materials such as stainless steel, steel and aluminium.

What you'll do

• Weld heavy ship parts such as side tanks, deck hatches and hull plating.
• Set up welding equipment for current, voltage and wire feed.
• Apply the right welding techniques based on WPS drawings.
• Work on maintenance, new build and repair projects.

What we ask

• Completed MIG/MAG and electrode welding training at level 3, and knowledge of WPS drawings and welding method descriptions.
• Knowledge of materials and tools, an independent way of working and flexibility in tasks and working hours.
• Basic VCA certificate (a Dutch safety certificate for working on industrial sites). A valid welding certificate and experience in the shipbuilding or offshore industry are a plus.
