E&I Technician – Chemicals – Day Shift

Just finished school and ready to start as an E&I technician? Or do you already have some experience and want something new? Read on.

Are you a technician who not only wants to fix breakdowns, but also improve how installations run? Are you looking for a company where things are well organised? Then this job is for you.

Safety and environmental rules matter here. You test technical installations and update technical drawings. You keep safety in mind and pass that attitude on to your colleagues.

What you'll do

  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on production installations, and perform calibration work
  • Carry out regular safety measurements on installations
  • Make changes to existing equipment following Management of Change (MOC) procedures
  • Instruct other technicians on how to use equipment
  • Work on-call (consignatie, meaning you are available outside regular hours in case of emergencies) when needed

What we ask

To do this job well near Amsterdam, it helps to be analytical and good at solving problems. You also need:

  • An MBO-4 diploma (Dutch vocational qualification, level 4) in electrical engineering, instrumentation, energy technology, measurement and control, or a related field
  • Experience level: this role is open to both people just starting out and people with a lot of experience
  • You work well in a team and have a service-minded attitude
  • You work in an organised way and have a hands-on approach

For more experienced technicians, the following is a plus

  • Knowledge of measurement and control technology in the process industry
  • Skills in maintenance techniques, calibration and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with environmental requirements, quality standards, safety rules and occupational health regulations (ARBO)
  • Experience with SAP

What we offer

  • The option to start with a one-year contract, with the prospect of a permanent contract
  • A gross base salary of €2,500 to €5,000 per month based on a 36-hour working week
  • A year-end bonus of 7.5%, vakantiegeld (holiday allowance, a mandatory Dutch extra payment of 8% of annual salary) of 8%, and an on-call allowance (consignatietoeslag)
  • 23 days of annual leave and 24 ADV days (extra days off as part of the CAO, the Dutch collective labour agreement, based on a 40-hour week)
  • Travel cost reimbursement, a good pension scheme with only 6% personal contribution
  • A large training budget

Depending on the position and the client, reference checks and verification of diplomas and certificates may be part of the recruitment process.
