Do you want to work as a WTB (mechanical maintenance) specialist on complex pumps, compressors and steam systems at major players in Amsterdam's process industry?

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Technician (WTB) for various clients in the process, chemical, food and energy sectors. In this role you are responsible for maintenance, overhauls, inspections and optimisation of complex mechanical installations and production systems.

You work in varied industrial environments where safety, uptime and technical reliability come first. After hiring, you will be placed on project-based work or long-term assignments at different client sites across the Netherlands.

What you'll do

  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, fans and gearboxes.
  • Find and analyse mechanical faults in production installations.
  • Disassemble, overhaul and reassemble complex mechanical components.
  • Perform alignment of rotating equipment using laser alignment tools.
  • Work with hydraulic, pneumatic and steam systems.
  • Inspect valves, piping systems and heat exchangers.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, technical drawings and isometrics.
  • Perform vibration measurements and basic condition monitoring.
  • Assist during turnarounds, shutdowns and major maintenance stops.
  • Identify and implement technical improvements.

What we ask

  • Completed technical education at MBO level 3 or 4 (Dutch vocational qualification) in Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of documented experience in an industrial maintenance environment.
  • Proven experience with rotating equipment and complex mechanical installations.
  • Background in process, petrochemical, energy, food production or heavy industry.
  • Knowledge of predictive maintenance and fault diagnostics.
  • Experience working safely according to LOTO procedures and permit-to-work systems.
  • Willingness to work in shift patterns (2-, 3- or 5-shift).
  • Willingness to be on call for technical standby and emergency duties.
  • Flexibility to work at different industrial locations across the Netherlands.
  • Good command of technical English.
