Fibre Optic Technician / Installer

About the job

As a fibre optic technician and installer, you work every day on something that matters: reliable internet and TV connections for private customers and businesses. You don't need to know everything from day one. You learn on the job, alongside an experienced colleague, step by step.

What you'll do

• You install and activate fibre optic and coaxial connections at private homes and businesses
• You fix faults and make sure customers are back online as quickly as possible
• You check connections and make sure every installation is safe and neat
• You work with colleagues to keep projects running smoothly and at the right quality
• You learn the trade in practice, guided by experienced installers
• You grow step by step towards becoming a specialist in telecom technology
• You make sure customers are satisfied and leave them with a working connection

What we ask

• A technical vocational qualification (MBO level 2) is preferred
• Interest in technology and telecommunications, with a practical mindset
• Experience with coaxial or fibre optic work is a strong advantage
• You don't work strictly 9 to 5, you are willing to be on call for a few emergency shifts per year
• You hold a VCA certificate (a Dutch safety certificate for working in hazardous environments) and have completed the "Safe Working on the Road" training, or you are willing to obtain these through the client

• Salary from €2,900 to €3,500 gross per month, based on experience, with room to grow
• Employment under the CAO Metaal & Techniek (Dutch collective labour agreement for metal and technology), including a pension plan
