E&I Technician – Food Production

About the job

As an E&I breakdown technician you work a 5-shift rotation and carry out a range of tasks at a food production site in Koog aan de Zaan. Half your time goes to preventive maintenance, the other half to planned repairs and solving complex breakdowns. You work with systems such as ABB, Siemens S5 and S7, and Rockwell. Daily reports are logged in SAP. On top of that, you supervise external contractors, design and roll out improvement projects, and train and coach colleagues. You help produce healthy food for people around the world. Safety comes first for you, and you pass that attitude on to the people around you.

What you'll do

  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on production installations
  • Perform regular safety measurements on installations
  • Find and fix faults in electrical and instrumentation systems
  • Inspect, lubricate, clean and calibrate electrical and instrumentation systems in the factory
  • Overhaul electric motors, pumps, valves and other equipment

What we ask

As an E&I breakdown technician you bring a cooperative and flexible attitude, plus:

  • At least MBO 3 level (Dutch secondary vocational qualification) in mechatronics, measurement and control technology, electrical engineering, or a related field
  • Several years of experience in a similar role as an electrical fitter, control systems technician, or instrumentation technician in the process industry
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail
  • A VCA certificate (Dutch safety certificate for working on industrial sites) or willingness to obtain one

What we offer

  • Gross basic salary between €5,150 and €6,200 per month, including a 32% shift allowance
  • 8% holiday pay (vakantiegeld: a statutory Dutch bonus paid on top of your salary)

  • Travel cost reimbursement of €0.21 per kilometre, up to 25 km each way
  • Year-end bonus and a savings scheme
  • A fixed training budget of €750 per year
