E&I Breakdown Electrician / Mechanic - Steel
About the job
Are you an experienced E&I breakdown technician who enjoys a real technical challenge? Do you want to play a key role in maintaining, optimising and improving a modern production facility? You will work in a complex steel production environment and contribute to an innovative manufacturing process. As a breakdown technician you are the first line of response for technical problems. You analyse faults quickly and accurately, and carry out repairs with a focus on safety and quality. With your knowledge and proactive attitude you keep production running at its best.
What you'll do
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on production installations
- Perform periodic safety measurements on installations
- Optimise production installations
- Detect and resolve faults in electrical and instrumentation systems
- Carry out inspections, lubrication, cleaning and calibration of electrical and instrumentation systems in the plant
- Overhaul electric motors, pumps, valves and other equipment
What we ask
As an E&I breakdown technician you have:
- At least MBO 3 level (MBO Mechatronics, MBO Measurement and Control Technology, MBO Electrical Engineering, or MBO intermediate-level engineering in electrical engineering). MBO is the Dutch vocational education qualification at secondary level.
- Solid knowledge of PLC systems, frequency inverters and field instrumentation
- Several years of experience in a similar role as electrician, automation technician or measurement and control technician in a process industry
- The ability to work independently as well as in a team
- A VCA certificate (Dutch safety certificate for working in industrial environments), or willingness to obtain one

- Gross base salary of €3,900 to €5,900 per month, including a 29% shift allowance
- Fixed monthly overtime allowance of €112.08
- Vakantiegeld (holiday pay, a statutory Dutch bonus) of 8%
- 25 days of holiday
- Travel cost reimbursement of €0.21 per kilometre
- Fixed annual bonus
Depending on the position and the client, a reference check and verification of diplomas and certificates may be part of the recruitment process.
How to apply
This role runs on a 5-shift rotation schedule. The hourly rate is between €23.00 and €34.50 depending on shift.
