Ship Mechanic

About the job

You work as a mechanic maintaining and repairing a ferry fleet in Amsterdam. You work alone or as part of a team, in the port, at the quays, and on the water.

What you'll do

• You carry out planned, periodic inspections and maintenance of ships and quays
• You fix breakdowns and carry out repairs after faults or unexpected incidents
• You service installations at the docks, such as lifting bridges and lighting
• You fill in work orders with a description of the work done, faults found, fuel levels, and hours worked
• You are on emergency standby, available by phone around the clock for urgent breakdowns

What we ask

• Experience in maintaining and repairing machinery or mechanical/electrical equipment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to be on emergency standby (24h)
