Diesel Engine Mechanic

About the job

A client in Zwijndrecht is looking for a diesel engine mechanic to work in a workshop and on inland barges. You work both in a team and on your own, maintaining and repairing diesel engines from various brands.

What you'll do

• Carry out maintenance and repairs on diesel engines from various brands, including Caterpillar, Hatz and John Deere
• Perform service, inspection and overhaul work on board inland barges
• Report on completed work and give recommendations to the client
• Work both independently and as part of a team on new-build projects
• Once you have enough knowledge and experience, there is the possibility of working abroad: visiting clients, diagnosing problems and solving them on-site

What we ask

• Completed MBO (Dutch vocational qualification) in mechanics, automotive technology, combustion engineering or diesel technology
• Several years of experience in diesel technology, combustion engineering or the maintenance of machinery and vehicles
• Category B driving licence
• Good command of Dutch and English
• Candidates who do not meet all requirements are also welcome to apply. Junior options are available.
