Maintenance Mechanic

About the job

As a maintenance mechanic in the mechanical department, you carry out a range of tasks: preventive maintenance, repairs, and technical work on request. You work on various mechanical installations at the site of the High Flux Reactor (Hoge Flux Reactor) in Petten, a unique location in the north of North Holland.

What you'll do

• Maintain and repair pumps, fans, and drive systems
• Analyse and fix mechanical faults
• Carry out preventive inspections to avoid unplanned downtime
• Manufacture and modify mechanical parts
• Maintain and adapt tools
• Perform mechanical work on various installations
• Report technical deviations and possible improvements
• Work together with the Operations, Engineering, and other technical departments
• Work in line with strict safety and quality rules

What we ask

• Technical education at MBO 4 level, for example in service and maintenance in mechanical engineering
• At least 5 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic in a complex technical environment
• Experience with maintenance of pumps, fans, and drive systems
• Experience in the metal industry, mechanical engineering, or as a structural metalworker
• Knowledge of manufacturing, modifying, and maintaining mechanical parts and tools
• Ability to analyse and solve technical problems in a hands-on way
• Strong focus on safety, quality, and reliability
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work together with different technical departments
• A certificate of good conduct (VOG, a background check required by Dutch law) is required as part of the recruitment process

• Salary from €3,500 to €4,500 gross per month
