About the job

This is a paper factory in the northern part of Limburg, near Roermond. They turn recycled paper into packaging materials used all over the world. The production process has several steps: pulping, cleaning, paper making, and drying.

You start in a basic role and are trained step by step to become a full paper machine operator. You learn the whole process, from the first prep role to running the paper machine itself. No two days are the same, and there is plenty of room to grow your technical skills.

Becoming a paper machine operator takes time. This company really invests in your development. You start in the rewinding department and go through a full onboarding programme with internal training, classroom days, assessments, and practical exams. The programme takes about a year. After that, you can move up to the next department.

We are looking for someone who wants to learn, likes to get their hands dirty, is curious, interested in technology, and gets energy from a busy work environment where no two days are the same.

What you'll do

As a Junior Mechanical Operator you work in a 5-shift rotation and share responsibility with your team for keeping production running without interruption.

• Operate and monitor the paper machine and its peripheral equipment (DCS/SCADA)
• Detect and analyse faults, mainly mechanical ones
• Measure quality and adjust process parameters
• Work safely and accurately according to set procedures
• Communicate clearly with colleagues and the shift leader. Making paper is a team effort

What we offer

• Gross base salary of €2,900 to €3,500 per month, including a 27% shift allowance, depending on experience
• 25 holiday days and 8% vakantiegeld (holiday pay, a statutory annual bonus paid out once a year)
• Travel cost reimbursement of €0.23 per km, up to a maximum of 50 km one way
• Extra pay for working on public holidays
