Construction and Installation Fitter

About the job

As a construction and installation fitter, you assemble and disassemble structures, pipes, parts and machines at customer sites. You work mainly in the IJmond region and Amsterdam. You take your tasks from a project manager and often work with a team. Sometimes you lead the crew on site and act as the main contact for the customer.

What you'll do

• Discuss the scope of work with the project manager at the start of the day
• Collect the tools and materials you need before you leave
• Carry out assembly and disassembly work at customer sites
• Work with the team to keep the job on track
• Solve problems as they come up to avoid delays
• Stay in contact with the customer during the job
• Lead the work on certain jobs and take responsibility for the result

What we ask

• A vocational qualification (MBO level 2-3) in metalworking as a structural fitter or welder
• A VCA-B or VOL certificate (VCA is a Dutch safety certificate for construction and industrial work), or willingness to get one
• A hoogwerker (elevated work platform) certificate; extra certificates are a plus
• A category B driving licence and your own transport
• Experience with structural work, reading technical drawings, welding, and working with cranes and elevated work platforms
• Good communication skills and a practical, solution-focused attitude

• Salary from €2,900 to €4,000 gross per month, depending on experience
