Mechanical Production Operator
About the job
Do you like tinkering and get energy from working with technology? This could be for you. In a modern, fully automated production facility in Leeuwarden, we are looking for a Mechanical Operator who enjoys working with machines and fixing issues before they become real problems.
In this factory, millions of metal packaging units are produced every day from large steel coils. You are responsible for one of the production lines, such as a pressing, welding or coating line. You make sure the line runs well by setting up, adjusting and changing over machines when switching products. When a fault occurs, you find the cause and fix it yourself. You also carry out small mechanical repairs, replace worn parts and support the technical team during bigger maintenance stops.
Aside from the technical work, you keep a close eye on production quality. You carry out checks, record production data in the system and actively share ideas for improvements that can make production run faster and more smoothly. No two days are the same, and that variety is what makes this role interesting.
What we ask
You have a technical mindset and get energy from working with machines and production lines. You think in solutions, work carefully and feel responsible for a safe and smooth production process. Together with your colleagues, you make sure the lines keep running well.
You also have
- A completed technical education at MBO 3 or MBO 4 level (Dutch vocational qualifications), for example Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, AOT or Automotive Technology.
- Technical knowledge and an interest in mechanical installations.
- Experience as an operator in a production environment is a plus.
- Experience with repairs, whether professional or as a hobby, is welcome.
- Willingness to work a 5-shift schedule.
- A proactive attitude and attention to safety and quality.
What we offer
You will work in a technically demanding production environment where there is strong investment in modern installations and the development of employees. You get a lot of responsibility and work with colleagues who share your interest in technology.
- Gross monthly salary from €3,877 to €4,948, including shift allowance.
- 28.7% shift allowance.
- 5% year-end bonus.
- 8% vakantiegeld (holiday pay, a standard Dutch allowance paid on top of your salary).
- A good pension scheme.
- Travel cost reimbursement.
- A 36-hour working week in a 5-shift schedule.
- Good training and career development opportunities.
- A job at a stable international organisation.
