Process Operator Chemistry

About the job

As a process operator, you are a key part of the production process. You monitor, adjust and optimise installations to guarantee quality, output and safety. You work in a process environment with both continuous and batch processes.

What you'll do

  • Control and regulate the production process according to instructions from the Shift Manager.
  • Monitor parameters (temperature, pressure, flow, pH, level, etc.) from the control room.
  • Carry out field rounds, take samples and perform quality tests.
  • Carry out minor maintenance tasks and secure installations using LOTOTO (lock-out/tag-out procedure) before service work.
  • Start up and shut down installations according to procedures.
  • Report deviations and problems, and suggest improvements using root cause analysis.
  • Keep your work area tidy and follow safety, environmental and quality rules.
  • Work in a 5-shift rotation where safety and continuous improvement are the priority. In time, you will be trained as an all-round process operator, responsible for both field work and control room tasks.

What we ask

  • Technical education: MTS Procestechniek, Vapro B or Vapro C, or equivalent technical background.
  • Several years of experience in the process industry, preferably in bulk chemistry, with knowledge of continuous and batch processes.
  • Knowledge or experience in unit operations: distillation, mixing, polymerisation, drying and filtration.
  • Willingness to obtain additional certificates such as BHV (in-company emergency response) and VCA (safety certificate for working in hazardous environments).
  • A proactive attitude: you spot opportunities to improve things and take initiative.
  • A sense of responsibility, safety awareness and the ability to work in a team.

What we offer

  • Gross monthly salary between €4,200 and €4,900, including a shift allowance of 29.5%.
  • Fixed year-end bonus of 5%.
