Process Operator - Power Plant

About the job

You operate and monitor a modern combined cycle gas turbine power plant (STEG, a gas and steam turbine plant) in Lelystad. From the control room you keep an eye on the entire production process. You do rounds through the plant and act when you spot something wrong.

What you'll do

• Operate and monitor the STEG plant from the control room
• Do inspection rounds at turbines, boilers and auxiliary systems
• Start up, shut down and switch systems according to set procedures
• Check process values, output, emissions and water quality
• Analyse faults and carry out first-line maintenance
• Isolate and release systems for maintenance work
• Run functional tests after maintenance is completed
• Take part in process improvements and work on safety and availability of the plant

What we ask

• Completed technical education at mbo-4 level (Dutch vocational qualification, level 4), for example AOT, VAPRO C, Energietechniek, Maritiem Officier or Scheepswerktuigkundige
• Interest in energy production, process control and large technical installations
• Able to analyse process deviations in a calm and structured way
• Strong safety awareness and a hands-on approach
• Candidates with a relevant hbo (higher vocational) background or technically skilled graduates are also welcome to apply

What we offer

• Gross salary of €4,375 to €6,625 per month, including shift allowance
• Direct permanent contract for 38 hours per week
• Year-end bonus of 4.5% and a benefits budget of 1.8%
• 25 days of annual leave and 3.5 days of health leave per year
• Vakantiegeld (holiday pay) of 8%
• A rotating 7-shift schedule, with several consecutive days off on a regular basis and day shifts, a more friendly version of the classic 5-shift schedule
