Terminal Operator – Western Port Area Amsterdam
As a Terminal Operator, you make sure all loading and unloading runs safely, smoothly, and on schedule. You spend most of your time outside, on the terminal site, and work closely with colleagues in Operations. No two shifts are the same. One shift you prepare a vessel for unloading, the next you do quality measurements or handle pumping and homogenisation of products.
What you'll do
- Loading and unloading sea-going and inland vessels
- Setting up, switching, and operating pump and pipeline systems
- Transferring liquid bulk products between tanks, jetties, and installations
- Taking gas, temperature, pressure, and level measurements
- Identifying faults and carrying out first-level maintenance
- Working to the highest safety and environmental standards
This role suits operators who like working with large-scale installations. You will work with:
- Large storage tanks and pump installations
- Extensive pipeline networks
- Vapour recovery and emission control installations
- Tank measurement and level systems
- Blending installations
What we ask
- MBO 3 (Dutch vocational qualification, level 3) education or equivalent thinking level: Vapro A, Vapro B, AOT, or Process Technology
- Experience as a Process Operator, Terminal Operator, or Operator in petrochemicals, chemicals, tank storage, or energy
- Candidates from inland or sea shipping with operational experience are also welcome
- Strong sense of responsibility for safety
- Willing to work in a continuous 5-shift rotation
