Paving Assistant

About the job

You like working outside and physical work doesn't put you off. You can start as a paving assistant and work on paving and infrastructure projects near Drachten. No experience? That's fine. Some experience? Also welcome. There's room to grow in this trade.

What you'll do

• Bring materials to the work site: paving stones, sand, paving tools
• Prepare the ground: digging, levelling and compacting
• Help lay and finish surfaces
• Keep tools in order and clean up the work site
• Make sure the work site stays safe and tidy

You work for a professional infrastructure company near Drachten. They specialise in earthworks, road construction and water infrastructure. You work in a team with experienced colleagues.

What we ask

• VCA Basis certificate (a Dutch safety certificate for construction workers), or willingness to get it for free
• Category B driving licence (own car is a plus)
• Good physical condition and no problem working outdoors
• Proactive attitude and ability to work in a team
• Experience in construction or infrastructure is a plus, but not required

What we offer

• Salary in line with the CAO (collective labour agreement, a sector-wide pay agreement) from €2,700 to €3,000 gross per month
• Travel allowance: €0.23 per kilometre
• 25 days of holiday per year at full-time hours
• Possibility to get certificates and move up in the company
• Good atmosphere in a close-knit, professional team
