Driver's Assistant – Food Distribution

About the job

You work as a truck driver's assistant and deliver food products to restaurants, canteens and other catering businesses in and around Amsterdam. It is physical work and you start early in the morning.

What you'll do

• Help the driver load and unload the truck at the warehouse at the start and end of the day
• Deliver goods to catering customers, including drinks, frozen products and other items
• Carry goods to different floors when the delivery requires it
• Support the driver while driving and parking in busy city conditions
• Keep safety in mind throughout the whole route

What we ask

• Category B driving licence and your own transport (car, scooter or bicycle) – the location is not reachable by public transport
• Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy loads
• Living in or near Amsterdam (Westpoort area)

Pay and conditions

• Gross salary from €2,745.72 per month (full time, including ADV allowance), with the possibility to grow to €3,212.13 gross per month
• Net supplement of €144.42 per month (€0.83 net per hour, based on 40 hours per week)
• Travel cost reimbursement: €0.25 per km (the first 10 km each way are not reimbursed)
• Weekly pay
• 8% vakantiegeld (holiday pay, a statutory Dutch bonus paid on top of your salary) paid out in May
• 24 days of holiday leave (calculated in proportion to time worked)
• Possibility of a permanent contract directly with the employer
• Possibility to grow into a category C driver role

Working hours

• Start times between 04:30 and 07:20, usually confirmed the day before
• Monday to Friday, occasionally Saturday
• Hours can vary per day and per week, fixed hours are not guaranteed
