Senior Bridge and Lock Maintenance Mechanic

About the job

As a senior bridge and lock maintenance mechanic, you help keep infrastructure reliable and running. You work on movable installations such as bridges, locks, and pumping stations. You make sure they operate safely and correctly. You use your technical knowledge to fix breakdowns and carry out preventive maintenance.

What you'll do

• Carry out maintenance: repair and maintain complex installations on site.
• Test installations: start them up, calibrate them, and carry out precise repairs.
• Fix breakdowns: analyse and solve faults, and take part in a 24/7 on-call schedule.
• Install and dismantle installations: take them apart and put them back together, then test them to confirm they work correctly.
• Support colleagues: work as part of a team and guide new mechanics, acting as a mentor.

What we ask

• At least MBO-level education (Dutch vocational qualification) in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or electrical engineering.
• Category B driving licence.
• VCA certificate (a Dutch safety certification for working on construction and industrial sites), or willingness to obtain it.
• No fear of heights, and experience working safely near water.
• Ability to use digital tools, or willingness to learn them quickly.

• Salary between €3,600 and €4,200 gross per month.
• Temporary contract with the prospect of permanent employment.
