Tram Mechanic - Fault Repair

About the job

You work independently on maintenance, repairs, and breakdown work on trams in the Amsterdam area. The main focus is diagnosing and fixing faults, both in the workshop and on location.

What you'll do

• You analyse and fix complex faults. When needed, you develop new solutions that fit the specific problem.
• You carry out standard and advanced repairs. You choose the method and approach yourself.
• After fixing a fault, you test and assess the tram and clear it for service.
• You decide to take a vehicle out of service temporarily or permanently when safety or reliability requires it.
• You take part in testing systems and vehicles, including getting trams back on track after a derailment.

What we ask

• Experience in diagnosing and repairing electric or mechanical vehicles or machines.
• Ability to solve technical problems independently, also under time pressure.
• Willingness to work shifts, including nights and weekends.

Extra information

The job runs on a continuous three-shift schedule: 07:00-15:00, 15:00-23:00, and 23:00-07:00. You receive additional pay for working outside standard hours. The employer offers opportunities for professional development through internal training on rail vehicles.
