Deputy Shift Manager – Foam Production

About the job

As deputy shift manager, you keep the production process running smoothly. You make sure your team can work safely and efficiently every day. You are the link between the production floor and management, combining hands-on tasks with supervisory duties. In practice, you work closely with the line manager and production manager, gradually taking on more responsibilities. You spend a lot of time on the floor, keep an overview of the processes, and support operators where needed. With your technical knowledge and leadership skills, you motivate people and make sure production stays on track.

What you'll do

• Lead, support, and motivate operators in your shift.
• Monitor safety, quality, and progress of the production process.
• Support the daily coordination of production.
• Work actively in the production process and make corrections where needed.
• Detect and solve disruptions and problems.
• Make sure health and safety rules and quality requirements are followed.
• Ensure a proper handover at the end of each shift.
• Onboard and support new employees.
• Think along about improvements and process optimisations.

What we ask

We are looking for an experienced operator with ambitions in leadership. You communicate well, take responsibility, and get energy from supporting and motivating colleagues. You can keep an overview and respond quickly in a busy production environment.

We also ask

• A thinking and working level of MBO 3 or MBO 4 (Dutch intermediate vocational education, roughly equivalent to a technical trade qualification) in a technical direction.
• Experience as a (senior) process operator, machine operator, or team leader in a production environment.
• Experience in leading a team, or a clear ambition to grow into a leadership role.
• Technical knowledge and a hands-on attitude.
• A proactive attitude focused on solutions.
• Good communication skills.
• A strong sense of responsibility.
• Willingness to work in a five-shift rotation.
