About the job

You work as an independent electrical engineer at one of the busiest container terminals in Europe. The terminal runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on the Maasvlakte in Rotterdam. You handle maintenance, inspections, and fault repairs on cranes. You switch between different areas of work and make sure the cranes keep running.

What you'll do

  • Carry out checks, inspections, maintenance, and repairs on various installations independently
  • Diagnose faults and fix them through emergency repairs or parts replacement
  • Read electrotechnical drawings, hydraulic diagrams, and hydraulic system documentation
  • Assess whether a fault falls in another area, such as mechanical, hydraulic, or vehicle technology
  • Perform electrotechnical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and measurement work
  • Restore parts and components according to specifications
  • Develop and implement modifications
  • Participate in on-call emergency duty

What we ask

  • MBO-3 diploma Eerste Monteur Elektrische Bedrijfsinstallaties (Dutch vocational qualification for electrical installation technicians) or equivalent
  • Experience with fault diagnosis in PLC-controlled installations
  • Basic knowledge of frequency inverters and hydraulic systems
  • Interest in industrial automation and port equipment; experience with ABB or Siemens is a plus
  • NEN3140 certificate (Dutch safety standard for working with electrical systems) or willingness to obtain it through VNOM
  • Category B driving licence
  • Good command of Dutch
