Tram Emergency Mechanic

About the job

You work as an emergency service mechanic on trams in Amsterdam. Your main job is to find and fix faults, both in the workshop and on location.

What you'll do

• You analyse and fix complex, connected faults and work out lasting solutions
• You carry out standard and advanced repairs, and choose the best approach yourself
• After fixing a fault, you test and inspect the tram and clear it to return to service
• You decide when a tram needs to be taken out of service temporarily or permanently, if safety requires it
• You take part in testing systems and trams, including getting derailed vehicles back on the track

What we ask

• Experience in diagnosing and repairing mechanical or electrical equipment
• Ability to work under time pressure and good communication skills
• Willingness to work in a 24-hour shift schedule
